Tama October
I have been practicing massage therapy for over 25 years and have studied at Lansing Michigan Community College, Health Enrichment Massage School (Michigan), Chicago School of Massage, International Institute of Reflexology, Colorado Cranial Institute, East-West School of Massage and the Upledger Institute.
I use a variety of bodywork techniques including deep tissue massage, trigger point myotherapy, reflexology, acupressure, neuromuscular therapy, Cranio-Sacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, Touch for Health, polarity energy balancing and REIKI. I specialize in deep muscle therapy and trigger point work.
I believe in treating each massage client as if that person were the only client I have. I believe in the body's ability to heal itself when nurtured by good nutrition, exercise, proper medical, chiropractic and bodywork care (which I've been receiving regularly for over 30 years) and having a positive attitude.

As a graduate of East-West College of Healing Arts, I have advanced training in deep tissue massage.
My goal as a therapist is to greatly reduce chronic discomfort in muscles. One technique I use is called Post Isometrical Relaxation (PIR). This technique uses a combination of stretching, first, but comfortable pressure, and breathing to release muscle tension. This is just one of many highly effective techniques that I use to create a noticeable change in musculature. I am committed to promoting massage as a way to improve the quality of life.
